Boys were allowed admission in military schools of India till now, but the Military School of Lucknow has given permission for girls entering the initiative. 15 girls have been selected for this session starting this year.
Main facts of the announcement
• Approximately 2500 girls applied for the session 2018-19, 15 of which were selected girls.
• All of them have been admitted to Ninth grade.
• All students started going to class from April 19
• Apart from these 15 girls there are also 450 other students.
• Before the admission of the girl students, some changes were made in the school infrastructure. She was made ready for girls by emptying one of the boys’ hostels.
Importance of Sainik Schools in India
There are 27 military schools in India. The best of the children studying in the military schools of the country is selected and they are sent from the National Defense Academy for military preparations. The education given in these schools becomes the foundation, on which basis the children become the powerful soldiers of the country. In the year 2016, 29.33% cadets from the NDA all cadets who came from these schools came from the schools. All the 27 Sainik Schools of the country are under the central government, while the military school of Lucknow is under the state government.
